Adding New Disks in to the Existing Disk Shelf (DS4243)

As soon as disks added in to an existing disk shelf please wait for 5-10 Mins allow the disks to Spin up once done now these disks will presented to storage system as a Spare disks and are not owned by filer (if options disk.auto_assign is set to off )

Now use the command

FAS01> disk show –v   (or) disk show –n (or) disk show on

To check the unowned disks and now use

FAS01> disk assign <disk id1>  -o owner name

Now add disks in to the aggregate

FAS01> aggr add aggr0 –g rg0  -d <disk id 1, disk id2….. >
