Moving a root volume ( vol0 ) from one Netapp filer to other

To move the vol0 volume, you need only use ndmpcopy , 

Now moving root volume from FAS01 to FAS02

1) Create a new volume, such as vol0new in FAS02

2) Use this command ndmpcopy:

ndmpcopy FAS01:/vol/vol0/etc FAS02:/vol/vol0new/etc

3) Now make the new volume as a root volume, with the command:

options vol0new root

4) Now Reboot the filer FAS02
